Hangang Ramen

Developing an identity for a local business.

Hangang Ramen is a family-owned restaurant located in Aurora, Colorado inspired by the self-cook ramen stations & convenience stores found along the Han River in Seoul, South Korea.

The logo was crafted with a sleek, minimalist design that not only captured the imagery of ramen but also embodied the flowing beauty of the Han River. The goal was to create a visual representation that is both modern and rooted in tradition, reflecting the cultural significance of the two elements in harmony.

With the introduction of this brand new concept to North America, detailed instructional posters were designed to explain the restaurant’s operation and provide step-by-step guidance on using the self-cook induction heaters. The signs served to enhance the customer’s visit by equipping them with the knowledge to navigate the unfamiliar model.

Although creating the menu presented a challenge due to the constraint of using a single display screen, utilizing a simple and easy-to-read layout allowed for the wide variety of food options and toppings to be clearly presented.

Tasked with managing the business’s social media platforms, posts were created with consistent marketing strategies (e.g. Ramen of the Week) and videos with trending songs.

“Ramen of the Week” is a creative marketing concept showcasing the final product of a ramen and its personalized topping recommendations. By highlighting the “before and after” of each ramen, customers can know what to expect from a new product and navigate a wide selection of over 60 different ramens.

The initiative generates consistent content for the social media platforms, with customers expecting a new ramen recommendation each week — and a discount for “liking” (engaging with) each post.
